Plant Attorneys at Law have launched a world-wide class action lawsuit against all Caletheas for falsely and misleadingly representing and advertising themselves as “beginner plants” or easy to care for plants.

A February 6, 2020 a report detailed internal concerns from at least one plant lover about the sale of calatheas. The report also detailed a flurry of lawsuits, some settled confidentially, against the plants and their competitors that allege a slew of catastrophic injuries, including chronic crispy leaves, PTSD (Plant Traumatic Stress Disorder, watering can based anxiety due to over/under watering, and terrifying dreams of being swallowed whole by an oversized calathea.

The supposedly "easy" care claims were self-created and are wholly unrelated to the actual needs of calatheas.

The lawsuit is being pursued on behalf of individuals who have purchased a calathea since 2002.
